Vase of Persistence is the first in a new series which asks ceramics to carry language, symbol, and message alongside art, craft, and design.
All parts are wheel-thrown. The body is two thrown parts assembled and joined, the pedestal is separate and trimmed to continue the form. The Persistence Hawk is hand-painted in the negative using wax resist while the text is a vinyl stencil. The glaze is a custom-formulated inky blue glossy named Midnight.
Year: 2026. Materials: ceramic stoneware and Midnight glaze.
