Cardo Vase

Artichoke, thistle, cardoon. Cardo Vase is a dramatic new vase with multiple expressions inspired by the ornamental artichokes I observed around Venice. Its impossibly wide belly forms a surface for constellations, stories, and bodies of water. Cardo Vase is a part of our first-ever fully hand-built family of vases. Each step creating this vase requires complete attention to the clay, from the hydration of its body to the sound of the slap of wood on clay as the halves join. Every Cardo Vase has its own unique character gifted by a human hand.

Styling Notes: Cardo Vase is a large sculptural vase designed to present one or two bold stems. It shines best when placed alone on a table, counter, sideboard, or shelf. Its signature glaze, Deep Lagoon, is a subtle blue-green glossy ombré glaze. In dim light it appears to be a dark copper green glaze, direct bright light reveals the full complexity of the glaze.
